It's New Year's Eve and I Didn't Know...

I woke up a bit earlier than I usually would so I pushed my self to start the job I have long been delaying. I scribbled the details on paper and thought if it would be better to start off with the computer. After a fiew arguements with myself and a couple of hours, I started the pc. I did not feel like going online that time. While the pc was starting up, I remembered yesterday when the keyboard failed again and I needed to use the on-screen keyboard and restart the pc to get it working again. The keyboard goes like that from time to time. It is old, alright. It has been there since the very day we got a pc.

When the pc was ready, I clicked on MS Word right away. I wanted to waste no time so I started typing that project my friend suggested our teacher. Ah,yeah. I remember that crazy time when our teacher asked for suggestions on our next project. I thought up of an easy one that I would not have a hard time with (yeah, a bit selfish,but I know, everyone likes easy work). My friend suggested book report. Aww...she was a newcomer so she had no idea about the troubles we had with that report. It is not like any book reports the elementary would have with the max 3 pages (with the drawing). Ours would have 10 and some "add-ons".

I typed and seriously--I had no single thought of internet. Thinking about my lack of time creeps me out (that report, declamation, seminar, music ane TLE). I have 4 days left.

Finally, I clicked FF. Nah, I looked for a translator. The words here are kinda hard to translate and hard to understand. And then I saw the date on the translator page. What?! 31st?! Is it New Year's eve already? It IS. Then that makes it 3 days to go. I never enjoyed Christmas vacation 2008. I did not even notice that it was Christmas. I got greetings from friends, and I did greet, but it was sad.

What I loved and regret were the times I spent watching anime and playing computer. I am crazy with One Piece again. I read the manga in between typing and nii-chan got DVD.

Wake Up

"Basically, the internet is not always good. It may harm us too. But it is undeniably essential to our lives. In the end, it still depends on the user on how he will manage his time between the Cyberworld and the Real world."

That was the conclusion of my speech for Speech and Drama. I chose the topic "Internet" because i know a lot about it. Yeah, I am a PC addict. I hadn't realized that computers are driving me out of the real world. Until this night.

I haven't seen my father get angry that badly. He gave me a long lecture about overusing the computer. I ate quietly, I didn't fight back. I know he's right. Almost all day, I sit in front of the computer. Reports that are needed to be computerized are delayed. I don't know what really is fascinating about the internet. I guess it uses hypnotism or something o.o

This night, I came to reality. I'm using the computer too much. I never thought about my parents, my studies and my social life (though I don't have any -_-) . I refused to think about it and avoided the topic, rather. My father have always told me that using the computer is alright, but limit it to 3 hours only. Before I thought it was impossible. How could I do the (insert something here) in 3 hours? Now I feel that it's really enough. Three hours, either Neopets, Juicy Plum, Yakusoku or anime. Three hours.

I've came up with this sched now: 3 pm daily I'll go online unless I have to go to school or my bro is here, then I'll go offline 5/6pm. That's fine. I can do my Neopets thing for 2 days (NST, Neopian time goes 12am at 4pm in the Philippines). That's good. I'll only extend if I have something to type or research about.

I don't think anybody reads this, though, but if somebody, anybody does, umm...heh heh
