Friendster?

It's been a long time since I last updated my Friendster account this much. Back when I was in first year and was a n00b with the internet, all I did was Friendster, Friendster and Friendster. Now that I have been playing around with the 'net for almost a year, I'm beginning to wonder what is very usseful with having a Friendster account. Yeah, I know that you can meet new friends with this social networking site, and you can stay in touch with the old ones, but I don't think it is of much use to me.

It's not because I only have 77 friends that I am ranting about Friendster today. The majority of those 77 friends are my old friends, relatives, classmates and schoolmates. Whenever people in school meet new faces, one of the first things they ask is your "fs" or Friendster account. Then when you check your account, you're flooded with friend invites. I don't invite people that much. I did, a year ago. I used to anime fans I come across with, but not anymore.

Another thing I'm hating is that people invite random people just to increase their friend count. I don't know what's with this mentality but this is rather pointless if you don't even talk to that person. And I admit that I don't talk to those people I don't know but I invited before. They don't talk to me either.

I only enjoy Friendster during holidays because I see some of my friends greeting me and commenting on my page. When I updated yesterday, I uploaded pictures of our class, school activies and other random stuff I took with my PMP. I've got loads of photos there because it is just now that I found out how to access the "hidden folders" of the crazy PMP. Just some pics I got from it: what I do with my Pooh bear.

Okay, so back to the topic. Question: Is Friendster worthwhile or not? Answer: Depends on how you use it. Well, whatever. I'm not here to oppose one of the most popular social networking sites in the Philippines. I'm just here to rant about stuff.
